Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free learning series “Little KidsBig World” at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history.  Saturday topics at 10:15 a.m. are repeated Mondays at 10 a.m.  Children and their accompanying adult(s) are asked to meet at the west entrance information desk.

March 2, 10 a.m. Northern Lights. What makes those beautiful colors in the night sky? Discover the science of the northern lights and draw them with pastels.

March 7, 10:15 a.m. and March 9, 10 a.m. Cocoa Craft. Staying warm in the winter can be a hard thing to do, but hot chocolate helps. Make a paper cup hot chocolate craft.

March 14, 10:15 a.m. and March 16, 10 a.m. Athletes. Learn about some notable North Dakotan athletes and try your hand at tabletop versions of some of their sports.

March 21, 10:15 a.m. and March 23, 10 a.m. Winter Counts. A picture is said to be worth a thousand words. Create your own stories using pictures and learn about the history of winter counts.

March 28, 10:15 a.m. and March 30, 10 a.m. Dinosaurs. Dinosaurs come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Investigate the shapes you see in our dinosaurs, then form your own dinosaurs with 2D shapes.
