“Junior Historians”

Children entering kindergarten through fifth grade this fall are invited to the free 30-minute interactive learning series “Junior Historians” at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. Children and their accompanying adult(s) are asked to meet at the west entrance information desk.  The goal of the “Junior Historians” program is to cultivate an interest and passion for North Dakota’s history through stories, fun activities and discussions.

Feb. 1 Groundhogs, 11 a.m. If a groundhog sees its shadow on Groundhog Day, we will have six more weeks of winter. Join us as we experiment with shadows and light.

Feb. 15 Winter Weather, 11 a.m. Brrr, it is cold outside! February has had some of the coldest days on record for North Dakota. Learn about these cold days and build an igloo with sugar cubes.

Feb. 22 Black History Month, 11 a.m. Some of the most famous African Americans in North Dakota were baseball players. Learn their history and play baseball-themed bingo.
