Children entering kindergarten through fifth grade this fall are invited to the free 30-minute interactive learning series “Junior Historians” at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. Children and their accompanying adult(s) are asked to meet at the west entrance information desk.  The goal of the “Junior Historians” program is to cultivate an interest and passion for North Dakota’s history through stories, fun activities and discussions.

April 5 Fish, 11 a.m. The lakes are thawing, and the fish are biting. Discover what kind of fish are in the waters of North Dakota and paint your own fish masterpiece.

April 12 Marshmallow Constellations, 11 a.m. Some stars make patterns or pictures in the sky. Learn about constellations and make some from marshmallows and toothpicks.

April 26 Jumping Frogs, 11 a.m. What is a green amphibian with webbed feet and smooth skin? It’s a frog! Explore the wonders of amphibians and make an origami frog.
