You are invited to the “Great Pet Trek” at the Fort Mandan State Historic Site, 2576 8th Street SW near Washburn, on Saturday, June 21, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. This fun-filled free event celebrates Seaman, the Newfoundland dog who was in this area while accompanying the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1804-5. Stroll alongside the scenic Missouri River with your pets and take part in a group photo in front of the Seaman statue. At 1:30 p.m., Pet Olympics start with a pet show at 2 p.m. All pets must be leashed and accompanied by their owners. Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue will also be on-site for a meet and greet with dogs and information about adopting and fostering pets. For more information call 462-8535.
