After being stored in the state museum collections since 2015, the full-size bronze replica now offers visitors a connection to a significant symbol of American independence.   The state received the replica bell as a part of a 1950 U.S. savings bond drive in which bells were gifted to each state as a promotional strategy, generating savings bonds to help cover costs of World War II.  The ND Heritage Center & State Museum is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  Admission is free.

Children entering kindergarten through fifth grade this fall are invited to the free 30-minute interactive learning series “Junior Historians” at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. Children and their accompanying adult(s) are asked to meet at the west entrance information desk.  The goal of the “Junior Historians” program is to cultivate an interest and passion for North Dakota’s history through stories, fun activities and discussions.

Christmas Trees of Charity @ Morton Mandan Public Library

The “Christmas Trees of Charity”, hosted at the Morton Mandan Public Library will be on display from November 29 to December 25.  The community is invitied to admire their creativity and vote for their favorite tree.
