The first in a series of free Cancer Survivorship Workshops will be held Thursday, February 21 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bismarck Public Library.
The workshop, entitled “Meeting Your Emotional Needs during Survivorship through Stress Reduction”, will focus on the emotional needs of survivors. Speakers will focus on the emotional impacts of cancer and will also feature interactive breakouts sessions to teach survivors relaxation techniques to help alleviate stress. Speakers include Deb Colton, REACH Coordinator for the Bismarck Cancer Center, Theresa Heinrich, Massage Therapist for the Bismarck Cancer Center and Melissa Doherty, Yoga Instructor for Prairie Sun Power Yoga.
This Workshop is open to all cancer survivors and a guest and includes a free meal. Others workshops scheduled are as follows: “The Importance of Physical Exercise after Cancer” on March 21, “Nutrition Needs for the Cancer Survivor” on April 18 and “Taking Care of the Caregiver” on May 16. All workshops take place at the Bismarck Public Library.
