The NDSU Extension Service of Morton County/Region VII Parenting Resource Center is offering a Bright Beginnings – Assisting Your Child’s Social Development course FREE of charge.
Assisting Your Child’s Social Development - Overview:
Social development refers to the development of a child’s ability to achieve goals in interacting with others and also create and sustain positive relationships with others. Assisting Your Child’s Social Development discusses social development in children and how parents/child care providers can assist children with relationships.
• Understand social development in young children and its importance to their growth and well-being.
• Gain knowledge of developmental markers in a young child’s social development and develop healthy expectations for a child’s social needs and competencies.
• Identify some of the challenges to successful social development for children.
• Learn and be able to apply strategies for assisting children’s social development.
The class will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Noah’s Ark Daycare in Bismarck ND. The class is ND Growing Futures approved.
