WHAT: North Dakota American Legion Winter Conference press conference

WHEN: Friday and Saturday, February 1st and 2nd, 2013

WHERE: Grand International Inn, Minot, ND

DETAILS: North Dakota American Legion Commander Dave Rice will provide opening comments on the state of the Legion and the purpose of the Winter Conference followed by Auxiliary President Linda Juntunen giving an update on Auxiliary activities. General session speakers also will be available for comments/questions, as will National Vice Commander Glenn Hickman and North Dakota American Legion Department Commander Dave Rice.

Speaker Bios:

 Glenn A. Hickman - National Vice Commander

Glenn A. Hickman was elected National Vice Commander on August 30, 2012 during the closing session of 94th National Convention in Indianapolis. 

A U.S. Air Force veteran from Grove City, Ohio, Glenn is a life member of Post 1 in Columbus, Ohio.  He previously served as Department (state) Commander of Ohio and has been an active volunteer at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus since 1985.

Glenn enlisted in the Air Force in 1965 and served as a security policeman. He and his wife, Diane, have two children, Jason and Lisa, and four grandchildren.

Doris Ann E. Werlinger - Northwestern Division Vice President

Doris Ann Werlinger is a member of the Buffalo, SD Unit #147.  She is the Coordinator for the AARP Information Center in Rapid City, SD.   Doris Ann in a native of Hettinger, ND.  Doris Ann is also a member of the Laureate Beta Chapter Sigma Phi and the Heart Smart Ladies of Rapid City, South Dakota and enjoys dancing, sewing and crocheting.

Joe Mayne - Past Sons of the American Legion National Commander (1994-1995)

Joe Mayne is a Past National Commander from the Department of Minnesota.  He worked in beverage brand building in regional sales management and speaks to Universities on Sales, Ethics, Brand Building and the Generations at Work.  Joe volunteers his time to other organizations outside of the Sons of the American Legion.  He is on the Executive Committee of the Central Minnesota Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the International Business Fraternity Delta Sigma Pi.  Joe is also the author of “Aspire Higher, The Practical Application of Aspiration” and “Your HIRE Calling”.
